Rectal Prolapse:

Rectal prolapse occurs when the rectum protrudes through the anus, often affecting the elderly and children.

Types:

  • Complete: Entire rectal wall protrudes.
  • Partial: Only the lining comes out.

Causes:

  • Weak muscles, chronic constipation, or diarrhea.
  • Trauma, pregnancy, chronic cough, or neurological issues.

Symptoms:

  • Lump sensation, bleeding, constipation, or bowel control issues.

Complications:

  • Strangulated prolapse (tissue death).
  • Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome.

  • Treatment:High-fiber diet, hydration, laxatives And Surgery if needed.
